Formerly known as the Woodside Sanctuary, Woodside Special Care Centre offers residential treatment, rehabilitation, and therapeutic services to intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals. The organization, founded in 1976, currently cares for 80 residents that include young adults and children.
The children at Woodside benefit from a range of amenities that include recreation rooms and a sensory room. The recreation rooms include televisions, radios, and space for games and interacting, while the sensory room promotes sensory training through fish tanks, vibrant colors, and special lighting. In addition, children enjoy a daily program full of activities that range from motor stimulation and music to outside play and swimming.
