FC Barcelona recently added some scoring power to the club’s roster by acquiring forward Paco Alcácer from Valencia CF. Barca signed the talented striker to a five-year deal worth a reported €30 million and another €2 million in potential add-ons.
Alcácer, a 23-year-old product of the Valencia youth soccer system, appeared in 146 matches shared between the Valencia club and Getafe CF in Madrid. The Valencia native has also represented his country as a member of the Spanish national team.
Over the course of his professional career, Alcácer has established himself as a reliable scorer, efficient with short passes. In Barcelona, he will be called upon to provide fresh legs and productive energy as a backup for Luis Suarez.
